Online Training for Self-directed HCBS

Recruiting, Selecting, and Retaining Direct Service Workers to Provide Self-directed Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) is a publicly available, free, online interactive training series designed to provide guidance and useful information.  The training series is for individuals who self-direct, or wish to self-direct, their HCBS; their family members; and others who are authorized to provide support, where appropriate.  The series consists of six, self-guided modules, each covering a different aspect of direct service worker recruitment, training, and retention.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) developed this training for individuals who self-direct their services, their family members, and representatives to use free of charge.  Any reference to this training content should credit CMS.  No fees may be charged for any portion of this training content.  Only CMS and authorized partners may use the CMS identity marks (i.e., logos) on products they distribute.
