Medicaid Managed Care Eligibility & Enrollment Policies, Processes and System Functionality

Wednesday, July 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.

States are increasingly relying on managed care as a key component of their Medicaid delivery systems. Facilitating more efficient and effective enrollment into managed care plans requires planning, collaboration and technology investment. Please join the FFM LC for a presentation reviewing policies, procedures, and information systems employed by Medicaid managed care states to:

  • Assist Medicaid applicants/enrollees in navigating managed care plan selection and meaningfully differentiating among plans;
  • Facilitate managed care plan selection and enrollment; and,
  • Default enrollees into a managed care plan when no affirmative selection is made.

The presentation will highlight "best practice" examples of eligibility and enrollment strategies identified through interviews with five diverse states and offer opportunities to discuss the barriers faced and solutions developed in implementing managed care plan selection and enrollment systems.
