Improving Asthma Control Quality Improvement Resources
CMS offers quality improvement (QI) technical assistance to help states improve asthma control for people in the Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) programs. This technical assistance includes a “Getting Started in QI” package with a video and guides to measurement and starting a project. These resources also include webinars with state strategies, stories, and successes.
Technical Assistance and Analytic Support Program
Provides an overview of the CMS Technical Assistance and Analytic Support Program to support states in collecting, reporting, and using measures for four Core Sets of Medicaid/CHIP quality measures: Adult, Child, Maternal and Infant Health, and Health Homes.
California Adult Medicaid Quality Grant Program
Presents two quality improvement projects that California implemented through the Adult Medicaid Quality Grant. The two projects focused on improving comprehensive diabetes care by increasing hemoglobin A1c Testing Rates and improving maternal health outcomes by improving postpartum care. The projects had a specific focus on improving health outcomes for African Americans. Results, challenges, staff capacity, data collection and analytics, and promising practices described, Comprehensive Diabetes Care: Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) Poor Control (>9.0%) (HPC-AD), Prenatal and Postpartum Care: Postpartum Care (PPC-AD).
